I currently manage a network of 27 desktop units and 10 mobile laptops for the Northampton, MA Police Department. Like all networks we sometimes experience issues that go beyond our capabilities. In January 2006 I had such an experience as our department transitioned to a new CDMA (cellular) network using a new message switch and a new software vendor. To further complicate matters we replaced all the mobile computers on the new network. We solicited the help of Turcotte Data and Designs. Turcotte Data & Designs responded immediately to my request. In less than one day we had the new computers programmed, the new network set up, the switch machine and software set up and the new network completely functional. They not only set up the network, but explained each process, thus eliminating the need for follow-up visits.

The difference between Turcotte Data & Designs and other service providers is Jason Turcotte. Jason and his “have gun will travel” methods mean that when you need him, he will be there. Not only will he be there physically, but also mentally to get your system either back on line or running without all of those little glitches that you get used to, because you don’t know what to do. We fell into this same scenario and we were starting to feel that tension and stress that goes along with the anxiety of not having your system do what is was intended to do. We did call those 'others' because we had not yet heard of Turcotte Data & Designs. [The others] promised service with a smile, but all we got was some “no shows” to go along with our scowls. Along came Jason and we were back up and running and now we even have a new system that gives us a better, faster, and more secure networking tool. Our department, working with grant monies, was able to obtain computer equipment and mobile data terminals, if any of you are familiar with these units, they can be a bit of a project to get on line and installed in working order for department use. After countless hours and days with no luck of getting these units to communicate properly, we called Jason. He was able to fit us in to his schedule, and within two days we had our new units working properly and efficiently. I can’t tell you enough how incredible that was. Jason was also able to assist the department with our department network questions when our regular IT service company was not available, he was able to understand how the system was running and assist with network issues.

Knowledgeable, patient and trustworthy is how I would describe Jason Turcotte of Turcotte Data & Designs.
A few weeks ago, I found myself extremely frustrated. My computer totally crashed. I took it to Best Buy because it was still under warranty. When I arrived and shared my frustration, I found the gentleman behind the counter to be very understanding and kind. For this I was grateful. I listened intently and tried to understand as he told me why they would not honor the warranty on my computer. I was at the point that I just wanted it fixed because I had some deadlines to meet. He assured me they would get it fixed and I could go shopping and stop back in a few hours to pick it up. I felt relieved. After a few hours I stopped back to pick up my computer. Once again I found myself listening as I was trying to understand this kind man who told me it would take longer and be much more costly to fix than he thought. Again, I chose to be patient. I left my computer with this kind gentleman.
Four days later, I stopped back to pick it up. Once again I was trying to be understanding as I was being told that they are still not sure what was wrong with my computer. I decided I needed more than kindness; I needed someone I could trust and someone who would get the job done. I politely told them I just wanted to take it with me. This was on a Thursday afternoon. So 4 days and hundreds of dollars later, I take my computer home and realize it was just as broke as it had been the Saturday before.
On Friday morning I gave my computer to Jason. He told me he would look at it. I know from experience that when Jason says he will do something, he does it, true to his word. However, after my experience [with Best Buy], I was afraid to get my hopes up. I decided I would not expect to get my computer back for a week.
Saturday morning, my computer was returned to me, FIXED, WORKING PERFECTLY. Wow! I will never waste my valuable time and energy going any place else. Jason has also patiently worked with me helping me to become more knowledgeable about using my computer. I give a lot of credit for my business success to what I have learned from this, not only kind man, but honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy.
When Jason says that he understands that technology does not come natural to all of us, he truly means it and treats people with the utmost respect.
